When many people hear the name of real estate developer Jason Halpern, they immediately think of the work the Halpern family has been doing in commercial and residential real estate throughout New York for over 50 years.

And while Jason Halpern has added to that legacy by developing major project in the greater Brooklyn area and increased the family’s New York real estate investments to more than $500 million, he has also expanded the work of the family business. Led by Jason Halpern, JMH Development is also involved in a number of innovative real estate development projects in the Miami, Florida area.

Two major projects in Florida in which Jason Halpern and JMH Development are involved are the Aloft South Beach hotel and Three Hundred Collins, a residential development based in Miami. The Aloft South Beach shows Jason Halpern working in a niche about which he is very passionate, the development of historically significant properties. Aloft South Beach is actually the transformation of Miami’s historic Motel Ankara. Through the visionary work of Jason Halpern and JMH Development, the beach-front hotel now features 245 huge,luxurious rooms a stone’s throw from the Collins Canal and Lake Pancoast.

Using his vast experience, vision, innovative development techniques and unique development expertise, Jason Halpern has led JMH Development to purchase and develop a number of landmarked buildings with historic significance. His respect for those properties and the communities in which they’re located and his ability to develop a rapport with the people there have led him to do a number of fantastic projects that add value not only to the properties, but also to the communities in which they are located. That’s because of his commitment to having respect for the neighborhoods in which he does real estate development.

His Own Time

Jason Halpern is also committed to helping the less fortunate. He has made large financial contributions to Westchester Medical Center’s Joel A. Halpern Trauma Center. He also provides thousands of dollars to the non-profits Splash, the Relief Society of Tigray and Water to provide clean, safe water to people in drought-stricken areas of Ethiopia and Nepal.
